This target is fully consistent with Global Goal A and Target 2, which focuses on restoring degraded terrestrial, inland water, coastal and marine ecosystems to enhance biodiversity and ecosystem functions and services, ecological integrity and connectivity. 

Based on national circumstances and capabilities, the Government of Vietnam (GoV) has established a clear target of restoring 20% of natural ecosystems, thereby contributing to the global target.
