The national targets contribute indirectly to GBF Target 17 by improving the conservation status of nationally threatened species and controlling invasive alien species (IAS), which can support the safe use of biotechnology and the protection of biodiversity, thereby facilitating equitable distribution of benefits derived from genetic resources.
