Sustainable silviculture, agriculture and aquaculture practices aim to utilize biological natural resources to meet human needs, considering their carrying capacity and biodiversity aspects. National Target 9 (NT 9) will cover the forestry, agricultural, and fisheries sectors. NT 9 can be measured through the achievement of one indicator and implemented through five action groups. The entities that will support the achievement of NT 9 are the Ministry of Forestry (Kemenhut), the Ministry of Environment (KLH/BPLH), the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kemendes PDT), the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (BSN), private sectors and non-state actors.
9.1. Implementation of sustainable practices in forestry;
9.2. Implementation of sustainable practices in food crops, horticulture, and plantations;
9.3. Implementation of sustainable practices in aquaculture;
9.4. Measure to minimize of the environmental and biodiversity impacts arising from the utilization of biodiversity and/or development activities; and
9.5. Development of sustainability standards in silviculture, agriculture and aquaculture practices.

GBF-T10. Areas under agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and forestry are managed sustainably GBF-T10. Areas under agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and forestry are managed sustainablyEnsure that areas under agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and forestry are managed sustainably, in particular through the sustainable use of biodiversity, including through a substantial increase of the application of biodiversity friendly practices, such as sustainable intensification, agroecological and other innovative approaches contributing to the resilience and long-term efficiency and productivity of these production systems and to food security, conserving and restoring biodiversity and maintaining nature’s contributions to people, including ecosystem functions and services . | Medium |
The implementation of the target consistently be guided by the vision, mission, and principles outlined in the Indonesia Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (IBSAP) and National Long Term Development Plan (RPJP), which broadly align with all components of Section C of the KMGBF.
Most of the target elements have been covered. Although the timeline of Indonesia to achieve the target is 2045 according to National Long Term Development Plan, instead of 2030 as outlined in the KMGBF targets.
Indonesia requires further capacity building, technology transfer, and financial resources related to the implementation of this target
