Cible 2 : Accroître la superficie totale des aires protégées, des réserves naturelles et des forêts communautaires pour atteindre au moins 20 % du territoire terrestre, y compris les zones marines et côtières en particulier dans les zones d’une grande importance pour la biodiversité et les fonctions et services écosystémiques.
FRPrincipales actions à prendre pour atteindre la cible 2 nationale se présentent comme suit :
- Élaboration d’un atlas pour identifier, étendre et créer de nouvelles aires protégées, réserves naturelles et forêts communautaires
Sécurisation des aires protégées existantes; - Renforcement des moyens de subsistance des communautés riveraines à travers les AGR, les formations, les infrastructures socioéconomiques
Accompagnement de la création des aires protégées communautaires et privées - Création d’une aire marine protégée
