Integrate Biodiversity in Decision-Making at Every Level

Description

Ensure by 2030, that biodiversity and its values have been integrated into national, state and local development and poverty reduction strategies, planning and developmental processes, strategic environmental assessments, and environmental impact assessments, and are being incorporated into national accounting, as appropriate, and reporting systems.

Please outline the main policy measures or actions that will be taken to achieve this national target.

Raise awareness and develop interest among policy decision makers to integrate biodiversity values into national strategies, policies and plans,
Internalize government commitments to global conventions of biodiversity problems into national policies and legislations,
Develop protective and preventive laws and acts limiting and restricting the use of chemicals (pesticides and mercury) hazards to biodiversity and ecosystems services and functions (pests and disease control in agriculture and livestock, and gold extraction).
Integrate modern biotechnology benefits for biodiversity conservation and sustainable use in agriculture, forests, range and pastures, livestock, wildlife, marine and aquatic wetlands, other ecosystems,
Incorporate biodiversity resources valuation into national accounting and reporting systems.
