By 2030, the areas used for agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and forestry are managed sustainably, through the sustainable use of biodiversity, including environmental-friendly practices such as sustainable intensification, agroecological and other innovative approaches contributing to food security, restoring and conserving biodiversity, and maintaining nature’s contributions to social and economic good, including ecosystem functions and services.
Policy: Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) Code (2023)
Actions: Cambodia will enhance biodiversity and sustainability in agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and forestry by scaling environmentally friendly practices such as integrated pest management, agroecological approaches, rice–fish systems and reduced-impact logging. Extension services and producer support will improve input efficiency and reduce chemical use. Sustainable certification, deforestation-free supply chains and strengthened compliance with forestry and fisheries regulations will reduce habitat loss. Improved aquaculture biosecurity, habitat protection and enforcement will maintain ecosystem functions while supporting food security and resilient livelihoods.

GBF-T10. Areas under agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and forestry are managed sustainably GBF-T10. Areas under agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and forestry are managed sustainablyEnsure that areas under agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and forestry are managed sustainably, in particular through the sustainable use of biodiversity, including through a substantial increase of the application of biodiversity friendly practices, such as sustainable intensification, agroecological and other innovative approaches contributing to the resilience and long-term efficiency and productivity of these production systems and to food security, conserving and restoring biodiversity and maintaining nature’s contributions to people, including ecosystem functions and services . | High |
The target applies an ecosystem approach to production sectors by promoting agroecological practices, sustainable fisheries expansion measures, and forest-risk reduction approaches such as jurisdictional “zero-deforestation”. Actions also include certification and market mechanisms, reflecting science-based standards and value-chain incentives. Implementation logic assumes coordinated sector leadership and widespread training so sustainable practices are adopted at scale without undermining development needs.
Strong alignment, and explicitly references agroecological and other biodiversity-friendly practices and food security.
to be analyzed if we need to have additional means of implementation
