NATIONAL POLICY ON BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY 2022-2030
EN
The National Policy on Biological Diversity (NPBD) 2022-2030 is Malaysia’s response to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF). It will address present and emerging challenges with a revised framework containing various cross cutting actions to sustainably and inclusively conserve Malaysia’s biodiversity.
The NPBD 2022-2030 retains the goal-target-action framework providing guidance in conserving Malaysia’s biological diversity, promote its sustainable use and to ensure that it is utilized in a sustainable manner for the continued progress of the nation. In keeping with Malaysia’s international commitments, the Policy still embodies the spirit of the SDG and has been aligned with all the key elements of the CBD’s KMGBF.
The five goals in the NPBD 2022-2030 is accompanied by specific targets totaling 17 targets and 61 actions to be achieved by 2030, which are closely aligned with the KMGBF Targets, and based on national circumstances.
