Axis 4 of TotalEnergies’ biodiversity ambition (Promoting biodiversity) calls for the sharing of biodiversity data collected as part of its environmental studies with the scientific community and the public.

Axis 3 of the Company’s biodiversity ambition (’Managing biodiversity at our existing sites’) specifies that, on each of the material sites for the environment in the operated perimeter, a biodiversity action plan must be defined by 2025 and deployed by 2030 at the latest, and a report on the implementation of this plan must be communicated to stakeholders. Newly acquired sites have two years to comply. The deployment of the defined action plans is currently underway. Axis 3 also requires, when a site ceases operations, that the creation of biodiversity rich areas (e.g., rare species habitats, biodiversity sanctuaries, etc.) be assessed as one of the options for the site’s rehabilitation.

The Company implements a “zero net deforestation” policy for its new projects located in new sites for which the investment decision is made after 2022.

Axis 2 (’Managing biodiversity in our new projects’) specifies that the Company puts in place a Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) for each new site located in an area of interest for biodiversity, namely IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) protected area category I to IV or Ramsar areas. In addition, for each new project located in an IUCN category I or II protected area or a Ramsar area, the Company commits to implementing measures to produce a net positive impact (gain) for biodiversity, confirmed by a third-party institution. The action plan is in place, at the latest, at the time of commissioning of the site.

Axis 1 of the biodiversity ambition (’Respecting our voluntary exclusion zones’) specifies that the Company recognizes the universal value of UNESCO Natural World Heritage areas, by not conducting any oil or gas exploration or extraction activities in these areas and commits not to conduct any oil field exploration operations in Arctic sea ice areas.

Commitment to developing and implementing requirements aimed at protecting rare and unique forest types, forests essential for maintaining water quality, mitigating adverse climate change effects, and preserving habitats of rare and endangered species, among others. Such measures may include the introduction of voluntary logging restrictions, including the complete voluntary prohibition of logging in certain areas, measures to conserve forests along watercourses, water bodies, wetlands, and other critical ecosystems, support for the establishment of protected areas within certified territories, and the preservation of key habitats (biotopes) during logging operations.

Commitment to regularly reviewing and improving the standards of the Forest Etalon national voluntary forest certification system and their implementation by integrating best available forest management technologies, current scientific research, international requirements, and stakeholder engagement. Improvements may include adapting the standards based on effectiveness monitoring results, changes in Russian legislation, emerging sustainable forest management practices, and the experience of other voluntary certification systems.

(a)1. Contributions through the Keidanren Nature Conservation Fund: GBF Target 19(1) Support for NGOs projects that contribute to achieve the GBF targetsSince the establishment of the Keidanren Nature Conservation Council in 1992, over the 32 years from fiscal 1993, we have annually called on Keidanren member companies (approximately 1,500 companies) for donations and collected contributions from member companies and their officers and employees. As a result, the Keidanren Nature Conservation Fund has supported a cumulative total of 1,782 projects, with total support amounting to approximately 5.3 billion yen. The areas of activity supported include natural resource management related to biodiversity conservation and protection of rare plants and animals, as well as afforestation and environmental education. From fiscal 2023, as a new grant policy of the fund, we have set a policy to support activities that contribute to the GBF and added a requirement in the application to clarify which of the 23 GBF targets the activity contributes to.(2) Fund for Community Development and Knowledge Management for the Satoyama Initiative (COMDEKS)COMDEKS (Community Development and Knowledge Management for the Satoyama Initiative) is a program established by the Japan Biodiversity Fund, which was set up in June 2011 with contributions from the Japanese government, to support on-the-ground activities in natural environments that have been maintained and managed by humans, such as rice paddies and reservoirs (so-called secondary natural environments). COMDEKS contributes to achieving the GBF by supporting developing countries’ 30by30 targets, promoting Nature-based Solutions (NbS), and advancing the SDGs, including using OECM (Other Effective Area-based Conservation Measures outside protected areas contributing to biodiversity conservation). The Keidanren Nature Conservation Fund announced at COP15 that it would jointly fund COMDEKS Phase 4 with the Ministry of the Environment. Since fiscal 2022, KNCC has been contributing 50 million yen annually, and the total contribution is planned to reach 300 million yen over five years.(3) Monitor the progress of the grant projects including on site monitoringEvery year, we conduct site visits to observe support projects in Japan and overseas. The Chair of the Keidanren Nature Conservation Council and representatives of member companies participate, engaging in dialogue with local communities, governments, and municipalities to promote mutual understanding. The most recent site visit in Japan took place in August 2025 on the Enshunada Coast in Shizuoka Prefecture, where we visited organizations working to protect loggerhead turtles and coastal plants. The international site visit was held in July 2024 in Jakarta, West Java, where we visited a mangrove forest conservation project and deepened direct communication with local NGOs.2. Promotion for nature positive management: GBF Targets 3, 8, 11, 15, 20, 21(1) Revise Keidanren Declaration for Biodiversity and promote Keidanren Initiative for Biodiversity Conservation in response to the GBFIn December 2023, we revised the Keidanren Declaration for Biodiversity and Guideline based on the GBF and NBSAP. The declaration and action guideline specify the vision, corporate roles, perspectives, and actions to promote the conservation of biodiversity by companies and the creation of a sustainable society, contributing to the GBF. Even after the revision of the declaration and action guideline, we continue to call for support. As of the end of December 2025, 378 companies and organizations have endorsed it, and 205 case studies of initiatives are posted on the website.Keidanren Declaration for Biodiversity and Guideline / Keidanren Nature Conservation FundKeidanren Initiative for Biodiversity Conservation(2) Promote mainstreaming disclosure such as nature-related financial informationThe Keidanren Nature Conservation Committee participates in the TNFD Forum and plays the role of promoting understanding of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) within Japan as co-convener of the TNFD Consultation Group of Japan. While taking GBF Target 15 into account, it has continuously promoted information disclosure activities aligned with the TNFD framework even before the TNFD Recommendation were officially published. As a result, as of the end of October 2025, the number of Japanese TNFD adopters reached 210 companies (of which about 30% are KNCC member companies), the highest in the world.(3) Call out for corporate efforts that contribute to the GBF and National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan such as OECM and NbSWe continuously provide member companies with information on national policies based on the GBF and NBSAP, encourage actions aligned with these policies, and offer opportunities to deepen insights through dialogue with academia. While being mindful of GBF Target 3 and Target 8, we promote initiatives related to OECM and NbS in companies, with KNCC serving as an initiator of the 30by30 Alliance established by the Ministry of the Environment to achieve the 30by30 target, and with the KNCC Chair as the chair of the Green Infrastructure Public-Private Partnership Platform, which is administered by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.(4) Provide information and raise awareness through symposiums, etc.Aiming to further promote nature-positive management, we collaborate with the Japan Conference for 2030 Global Biodiversity Framework (J-GBF), for which the Ministry of the Environment serves as the secretariat, to co-host annual symposiums and networking events between companies and NGOs, contributing to GBF Target 21.3. Facilitation of the environment for nature positive management in Japan and overseas: GBF Targets 3, 8, 11, 14, 15(1) Make policy recommendations to facilitate nature positive management With a view to the interim assessment of the GBF to be conducted at COP17, in November 2025, we published the Proposal for Integrating Biodiversity and Natural Capital Conservation with Sustainable Economic Growth. When the KNCC Chair handed the proposal to the Minister of the Environment and others, discussions were held on the ideal approaches and necessary measures for companies to contribute to the GBF and grow in a sustainable manner. In this project, the organization aims to restore forests by leading and supporting conservation activities by residents through the establishment and promotion of tree nursery cultivation as a sustainable livelihood. Nature Restoration of Satoyama Waterside by Controlling CrayfishAiming to establish efficient and effective methods of controlling American crayfish, an invasive species that reduces aquatic flora and fauna, capture tests are being conducted under various environmental conditions using new continuous trapping devices and artificial aquatic plants. In addition, we are engaged in monitoring and verifying the recovery of ecosystems following a decline in crayfish population density, and in raising awareness and disseminating control technologies through symposiums and other means. Они вручную освобождают сети от зацепов, максимально бережно относясь к хрупкой водной экосистеме.количество поднятых сетей - 21,2 км сетей и 2 тонны сопутствующего мусора (за 2023-2025 гг.)

Проект «360» – это часть комплексной программы Эн+ «Мир со знаком плюс». Ее главная цель - защита озера Байкал, водных объектов и заповедных территорий РФ от неблагоприятных экологических воздействий.Реализуется с привлечением волонтеров для очистки прибрежных территорий, в том числе с сортировкой отходов и сдачей их в переработку, благоустройства ООПТ и создания условий для экологического туризма.С 2011 года в проекте приняло около 177000 человек (корпоративные волонтеры и их семьи, организованные группы, НКО, горожане), которые убрали 5010 тонн мусора.2024 год: 5216 участников, 186 тонн собранных отходов, включая РСО, 238,9 Га очищено от мусора. На территории ФГБУ «Заповедное Прибайкалье» реализовано 7 акций: из них 5 по уборке мусора и 2 по уборке валежника и установке пикниковых групп по туристическому маршруту «Темная Падь-Старая Ангасолка».2025 год: 3500 участников, 156,6 тонн собранных отходов, включая РСО, 180,5 Га территории очищено от мусора. На территории ФГБУ «Заповедное Прибайкалье» реализовано 3 акции, в том числе уборка валежника около пос. Шара-Тогот.2026 год: 502 участника, 14,5 Га территории очищено от мусора

В рамках проекта по искусственному воспроизводству водных биологических ресурсов, нацеленного на восстановление устойчивости рыбных популяций и сохранение природного биоразнообразия, происходит восполнение численности видов, пострадавших от браконьерства, загрязнения вод, климатических изменений и иных антропогенных факторов.• Выпущенные виды: пелядь, стерлядь.• Основные цели мероприятий: восстановление популяций промысловых и редких видов рыб, поддержание здорового экологического баланса водных экосистем.• Ключевые задачи: восстановление численности и поддержание биоразнообразия водных экосистем; повышение устойчивости рыбных популяций к различным воздействиям, включая антропогенные.Ежегодный выпуск более 700 тысяч мальков ценных видов рыб

Проводится ежегодно с 2019 года в формате научных экспедиций.Цель – получение данных о реальной экологической ситуации на озере Байкал, реках Селенга и Ангара, выявление и ранжирование существующих угроз экологическому благополучию озера и оценка их потенциальных источников.С 2023 года охватывает водосборный бассейн реки Селенга на территории Монголии при поддержке Института географии и геоэкологии Монгольской академии наук. В ходе экспедиции сотрудники ведущих научных институтов РФ (включая Институт экологии и эволюции РАН, МФТИ, а также МГУ им. М.В. Ломоносова) исследуют прибрежную зону озера Байкал с целью обнаружения и изучения угроз экосистеме озера.Исследования и накопление данных осуществляются по следующим параметрам:•              Определение элементного состава воды, в том числе тяжёлых металлов. Выявление возможных путей поступления токсикантов в Байкал.•              Оценка степени загрязнения воды биогенными веществами (ионы аммония, нитрита, нитрата, фосфата, фосфонатов).•              Оценка степени загрязнения воды токсичными органическими веществами (фенолы, ПАВ и пр.).•              Оценка содержания микропластика в поверхностных водах озера Байкал.•              Исследование ответа биоты (в том числе эндемиков) на изменение условий обитания на организменном и популяционном уровнях.Было проведено 7 экспедиций (с 2019 года)

Компанией оказывается поддержка 8 общественных инспекторов (компенсация затрат и оснащение их техническими устройствами). За все время реализации проекта проведено более 2 тыс. рейдов, пресечено около 1,5 тыс. нарушений. Общественные инспекторы работают круглогодично на Красноярском, Братском и Иркутском водохранилищах, а также на реках в Бурятии.Цель - сохранение видового разнообразия водных биоресурсов (ВБР). Мероприятие является высокоэффективным способом борьбы с браконьерством, которое наносит значительный ущерб ВБР.

За 2024-2025 гг. в акватории заливов Братского, Иркутского и Красноярского водохранилищ были установлены 1600 м² искусственных нерестилищ — этот природоподобный инструмент, доказавший свою эффективность, является мощным рычагом восстановления рыбных популяций в естественной среде.Организация процесса:  установка проходила под контролем территориальных управлений Росрыболовства, с участием волонтёров ГЭС, участников молодежных советов, местных жителей, сотрудников станций и представителей местных администраций.Результаты НИР: в заливе с установленными нерестилищами численность молоди плотвы, леща и окуня превысила аналогичные показатели в контрольном заливе (без нерестилищ) более чем на 95%.Экологический эффект: мероприятия достоверно повышают устойчивость рыбных популяций, способствуют восстановлению и поддержанию биоразнообразия водоёмов.

Проект направлен на сохранение лесных экосистем посредством раннего выявления лесных пожаров на территории Иркутской области и их оперативного тушения.В его основе лежит использование системы автоматизированного видеомониторинга для обнаружения, точного определения координат и оповещения о пожаре на самой ранней стадии.• В рамках проекта в 2025 году установлены 72 камеры на территории 26 муниципальных районов Иркутской области.• В 2026 году дополнительно будет установлено 24 камеры.

The Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) focuses on the roles of ecosystems and renewable natural resources in improving wellbeing and livelihoods. CANARI’s Strategic Plan 2021-2030 establishes Biodiversity and Ecosystems as one of five strategic direction where CANARI can make a difference in the Caribbean.Biodiversity conservation and sustainable use have always been a focus of CANARI’s work, and remain central to achieving our mission. Our work focuses on developing and sharing methods and approaches for biodiversity and ecosystem management that are aligned to national, regional and international frameworks and that optimise the contribution of nature to development.
